Anonymous: Just wanted to thank you for a lovely weekend. Even though Sunday was hectic, the staff did an excellent job handling the masses. Thank you all especially for Monday! Everything was so perfect and handled so elegantly. We had to leave early for sports practice and hated to go. We're so looking forward to next year. The Prendergast Family
Glad you were able to join us! Earl who? ‘Til next season.

Anonymous: Please confirm that the gym will remain open. I am not sure how any protocol for a hurricane would have an impact on the gym. Thanks.
Right now we expect the Fitness Center to be open through the weekend. The Tennis Courts will also remain open until noon Friday, and if all goes well, will reopen on Saturday or once the storm passes. The only exception would be if the weather is severe both Friday and Saturday, in which case we will not open. Members are free to call Bruce Pelczarski, who will remain on-property throughout the weekend, should members want to clear out lockers. His cell is: 508-221-1570.
[please see letter below]
Dear Valued Members,
We regret to inform you that Wychmere Beach Club has been forced to close its season early due to the impending hurricane moving up the east coast. We’re aware that many of you had planned to join us on this last holiday weekend at Wychmere but it seems that mother nature has other plans for all of us.
It takes a full two days to implement Wychmere’s storm protocol, a necessary step to protect the property and insure the safety of our staff from the threat of a potential hurricane. These preparations, which began earlier today, require: we remove all tables, chairs and umbrellas; remove and store away glass panels around upper deck; remove beach kitchen equipment and store off site; dismantle pumps and pool heaters and store off site; shut down harbor club plumbing; shut down part of waste water treatment plant to avoid flooding and contamination of treatment plant; and remove harbor club furniture along with as much kitchen equipment as possible.
We simply cannot take any chances with a storm being called on tonight’s news “a monster that can turn on a dime.” We speak on behalf of the entire Wychmere staff and ownership when say we share your disappointment with the early club closure and cancellation of Saturday’s Labor Day bash. And though member satisfaction is our outmost priority at Wychmere Beach Club, safety trumps all else.
Until now, it’s been a summer of spectacular weather and fun times at Wychmere. And though we’re saying goodbye a little early, we are confident our renovation plans will reveal a Wychmere Beach Club for you and your family to enjoy in 2011 and many seasons thereafter. In the interim, please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.
Very truly yours,
The Ownership & Management
